#1 — Actually, Mr. Smarty Pants, it refers to the area of a circle, which ARCHIMEDES discovered, and not the length of a third edge of a triangle, which PYTHAGORAS discovered. Thanks for making us explain the joke, rendering it unfunny.

Bigger groan – that joke refers to the Pythagorean theorem which was developed by… wait for it… Pythagorus, not Archimides.
